Post-Hurricane Sandy Community Support

To help connect Yale community members who need assistance with those who can provide it, we will post requests daily until November 9, 2012.

Requesting Assistance  - If you have emergency needs (e.g. clothing, shelter, food, clean-up, storage, etc.), click here to email your request for assistance to We ask that you provide the following:

  1. Your name, NetID, preferred contact information, town or city you currently live in.
  2. If you are requesting:
  • Clothing: provide specific information (i.e., size and gender, adult or child)
  • Housing: provide the desired location, number of people, number of bedrooms, duration of stay, pet or smoking information
  • Clean-up: specifics about what needs cleaning, if helper needs to bring supplies, the date of any organized cleaning days
  • Storage: size of storage needs
  • Laundry: approximate load size or number of family members
  • Immediate Moving: Location, number of rooms, time/date, destination

Providing Assistance - If you are able to provide or respond to any of the requests below, email with your NetID and indicate which request(s) you are able to provide.

We will not post contact information online, but will share contact information with community members who are offering or need assistance.

As a community service, Emergency Management is facilitating voluntary contacts between Yale community members requesting assistance with specific storm-related needs and Yale community members offering assistance with those needs. Yale does not independently verify the information provided by requesters or responders.
