Training and Workshops

At Yale

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.

The Emergency Management Institute (EMI) offers self-paced courses designed both for people who have emergency management responsibilities and for the general public. All are offered free-of-charge to those who qualify for enrollment.

Red Cross training extends from CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), First Aid, and AED (automated external defibrillation) to swimming and lifeguarding.
